Starro attacks Earth, taking control of the population of Happy Harbor, a coastal town in New England. It takes the combined efforts of 27-year-old Barry Allen, 25-year-old Arthur Curry, 20-year-old Dinah Lance, 25-year-old Hal Jordan & J'onn J'onzz. They decide to form a permanent partnership, forming the first Justice League.

Heartbroken, Morgan departs to wander the land alone while Tara returns to Shamballah & Machiste returns to Kiro.
Deimos magically grows a clone of 2-year-old Joshua Morgan to adulthood and compels him to attach his father, forcing Morgan to fight and kill his son. Presumed dead but sustained as a broken monster by but the Mask of Life, and knowing the blood of his killer will allow him to regrow his body, he begins to magically summon anyone with Travis Morgan's blood. unknowingly begins to effect 12-year-old Jennifer Morgan on the surface through her own magical sensitivity.
Ashiya steals the true 2-year-old Joshua Morgan and gives him to a woodsman's family to raise in a ploy to deprive Deimos of a pawn.
Orion's mother Tigra is found and killed by Kalibak. Bekka helps sooth his rage, and he asks her to marry him. Himon travels to New Genesis to give his blessing for the marriage, which is performed by Highfather.

Lord Sardonyx manages to escape his punishment & return to Gemworld where he assists the attack, and is killed in the ensuing battle. A lone surviving Diamond Priest, now the sole vessel of their power, joins the attack, helping to channel the magic of all the houses. Dark Opal is defeated by the combined magic of all the collected houses, and Amy retakes the throne of House Amethyst. 20-year-old Wrynn steps down, becoming the new Lord Opal, biding his time to get his revenge. Amy & Topaz cannot be together as they are nobility from different houses.
